L'Affarista (Incazzato Nero)

Iron · 1994

An iron man walks resolutely, angular, bent under the invisible weight of his business. Stiff arms clench briefcases heavy as compressed thoughts, while the head, slightly tilted forward and sharp as a blade, seems to cut the air with the same fury with which he faces the world. This is the Affarista, and Metzler tellingly adds: Incazzato Nero. The figure is an icon of the contemporary human consumed by the logic of profit. Yet in its grotesque presence, this character also speaks of us: our hurried days, our goals, the failures we hold back behind rigid expressions. Metzler does not judge, he shows. In the raw language of beaten iron, he gives back a sharp caricature of the working world.
